Ok, even I am having a hard time even reading the above headline but it’s somehow true. It’s the fiftieth year of the Bond franchise to quite a milestone to celebrate. So not only do they have a new Bond film out this year, a channel is being launched. Named Sky Movies 007, the channel will being broadcasting in October.
There will be 24 hours of pure Bond action, girls and gadgets from October 5th to November 4th which see an end to the hold ITV has had over the franchise since1974. Sky will be showing all 22 films starting with the first and original Bond film, Dr. No. They will also be showing a number of Bond-related programmes.
Director of Sky Movies, Ian Lewis, said: “The Bond movies are a very special franchise and we want to ensure that our customers will be able to experience it in a way they’ve never been able to before. We are delighted that our customers will have the best Bond movie-watching experience ever with Sky Movies – uninterrupted.”
SO what do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? Just a way to push up ticket sales for Skyfall in case it’s not as good as we are hoping? I think it’s interesting personally but let’s see. Will Bond be shaken or stirred?
