It’s been a long time coming but the Mario movie is finally on the way. Titled The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the film stars Chris Pratt as the lead character in an interesting accent. Check out the trailer below.
Yeah, it’s one that people will be discussing for a while but whilst there’s that contentious issue, we have an all star cast full of incredible names. Anya Taylor-Joy will play Princess Peache, Charlie Day us Luigi, Jack Black is Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key is Toad and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong. The trailer gives us first looks at Mario, Luigi, Toad and Bowser as well as some of the landscapes we can exoect to see and it included one or two familiar Mario gaming sounds. It’s a promising first glimpse at a film that hasn’t had the kindest words said about it due to Pratt’s casting and being compared to the 1993 live action film.
Directed by Aaron Hovarth and Michael Jelenic, collectively the pair have worked on Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, various animated Batman TV series and films and more. Screenwriter Matthew Fogel,.his credits include Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and more. The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released in March 2023.
